Personal | Etsy Favs | Boys Like Me

Rumor has it a certain someone has a something special day coming up and although he requested more memory for his hard drive (pshaw!), it was time go venture to the scruffy faced side of etsy where things smell like pine, beer and sarcasm.
I'd like to find him something not just unique but that he actually needs and wants, so that is my challenge for my favs: finding the perfect gift for a writer/director/husband/caretaker of friends and animals/soccer obssessed/loyal mac lover/encyclopedia of all things random and historic.

This may need a little explaining starting with the coasters. Well they are so cute and quirky. I'd love to have them on the wall (kitchen?) but we don't have much wall space and goodness knows we don't need more coasters. However this would make an excellent housewarming gift for Hollywood industry folk. The skater dog bowl holder? okay fine its random; but cool! We are getting a work dog and shouldn't his food be served up with a side of action? I think so. Plus the guy loves plaid. Bathes in it. We've seen every type of iPhone docking station under the mac daddy sun but this one really stood out. Just not sure if it's too bulky. It's pretty cool though but I'm envisioning a perplexed look on my husband's face upon opening his gift. However my sister would go ladygaga over this. I love to bake. It's yummy and it relaxes me as yoga does for others. To each his own. This giant cookie is socool I want to meet the etsy seller who makes this dessert ala Uncle Buck. Unfortunately it is pickup only. In Indiana. K. Soap always seems like a weird "you smell" gift but my husband is not a fan of my pouf ball and liquid soap (he's really missing out). For someone who lives by Guiness, why not bathe and smell like it? I believe it has a pleasant scent rather than a "found myself on the basement floor of a frat house". So I may get this. Lastly, if it were between me and soccer, I'm just not sure how he'd know how to quit you, soccer. His iPhone World Cup app is ticking the seconds down to the first game and this strange little puppet seems like something that could go from his desk to eventually the nursery. I've resigned myself to the fact that there will be soccer things in the house when the stork comes.

so there you have it! I've committed to buy the stout soap and wooden soccer player. Now on to that memory...if only I could forget.

Etsy Findings: Softly Now

Some personal posting is long overdue and since I have been an etsy addict since 2006 I thought it was a good place to begin. I am also writing up a 'what to wear' style guide using etsy sellers so my, er, researching has paid off.

This week's installment is inspired by all the warmth from friends, family, strangers, and etsy finds. There has been several discussions about animals, blankets and stuffed animals giving even us grown up kids a little love.
