Engaged | Gita + Mal
I am so grateful to have reconnected with my childhood friend Gita with whom I used to ride the bus to elementary school with. Even at age eight she was a unique spirit with bright clothing and interesting jewelry. She may be the only person I know that may have escaped 80s fashion. Today she's a superb raw chef who is on her way to writing a book and opening a spa. Then there's Mal- go to the urban dictionary and look up "cool" - there she is I'm sure. Individually they are two beautiful people: gentle, kind, peaceful. Together they are the kind of couple that reminds you how lucky we are to be loved and that everything we need is right where we put it: in our hearts. Gita and Mal live in CT and recently stopped on in our hood on their way to a blissful vacation in Hawaii. Like their love, everything I needed seemed to be right there in one location - a pool. The light, the illuminated water, the glow of the twinkle lights: magic. Gita + Mal - I can't wait for August! xoxo

Jen + Joe | Hollywood Hills | Engagement
Jen is a spunky gal who is always smiling and full of laughter. Not only is she super creative, she helps others find their inner Magritte with her Creative Dig classes that I was thrilled to be a guest speaker for. This - the always smiling, always laughing - I thought about Jen before I met her long time friend and now fiance Joe, who happens to be a comedian (coincidence?) Quite the inspiring couple, both are writers who hail from Cleveland, dated, remained friends, until that little spark become the north star.
Jen and Joe: thank you for climbing up hills and helping me extract cactus needles from my camera bag. Sometimes my love of love hurts but I think it's worth every frame. I am thrilled for what is to come for you both! xoxo ~ Marnie
