Dad and Jack | Newborn | Los Feliz

I had a full day to shoot the Robinson's newborn session thus producing a wedding- sized amount of images. While there are two babes, I adore this series with just Dad and baby Jack. I hope this story board will be a nice surprise for the family, and their very large extended family!

Newborn | Burbank, CA | Heath

How exciting it was to see Heath after shooting his birth just a few weeks before. It's incredible how one's disposition and personality is there from day one. Heath is a sweet and thoughtful one. Most newborns cannot lie still unless they are sleeping but Heath was such a little pro! Amber and Price did such a wonderful job with his nursery and the beautiful upholstered rocking chair that used to be Amber's mother's is so very special. This was a hard edit; too much cuteness for this blog post!

Birth Journey | Beverly Hills | Heath Roosevelt Wilson

Amber and I both volunteer for the Junior League of Los Angeles. I ran into her and her perfectly round belly at volunteer events and wondered how she looked so effortlessly beautiful while pregnant and volunteering. When she contacted me to document Heath's birth journey, I was so humbled that she thought of me. What an incredible moment to be present for. In learning more about Heath and his pre-birth journey, Amber had described Heath's nursery as a place where he would know that anything was possible. That stuck with me like glue. A gift with no strings or bows; just unconditional love and support.

I spent parts of three days with Amber, her witty husband Price, and family and friends while documenting the preparation, stories in the waiting area, the first images of Heath's first day, visiting day and finally going home. A special little guy in a tattered Chicago Bears jersey curled up next to Amber, sat in the waiting room, and made the journey home in Heath's knit hat. Poo Bear is surely a full fledged member of the Wilson family.

Heath Roosevelt Wilson entered the world at 3:14PM on June 28, 2010. From his button nose to his tiny fingers already wrapped around his Dad's finger, Heath first days were filled with love, laughter and a sense of calm.
